Soprano Corrie Donovan and pianist Jennifer Carr, affectionately known as the Texas Lassies, present an evening of Music's Favorite Women at the intimate Francisco Center for the Performing Arts in La Veta, Colorado, on Saturday July 30th at 7:00pm. Whether adored or notorious, these female characters from opera, musical theater, jazz, and celtic traditions are guaranteed to captivate. Joining the Lassies will be local Colorado guitarist, Andy Hackbarth.
Jennifer is a local to the La Veta community, but she and Corrie met at the School of Music at Texas Christian University. While they are both Fort Worthians, their actual heritage reaches back to Scotland, a place they each consider a second home. Together, they bring to life favorite musical classics, as well as a few special songs that convey their shared love of Scotland.
The program is a tour de force of personalities and archetypes, with everything from femme fatales to pious nuns to everything between: 16 wonderful, maddening, hilarious, or heart wrenching.
Please come join us for this portrayal of unforgettable women through the diverse musical-stylings of these two Texas Lassies!
For more information about this concert and ticket info, please find them on facebook at 'Francisco Crossing' or contact them at director@franciscocrossing.org. Tickets are $15.
